Aqua are René Dif, Claus Norreen, S¢ren Rasted and Lene Crawford Nystr¢m. The guys are from Denmark, Lene is from Norway. René was one of the most famous DJs from Denmark. Together with Claus and S¢ren he recorded in 1989 the soundtrack of a Danish movie called "Freakke Frida". During a TV-show he discovered Lene, where she was performing an old Randy Crawford song. They formed a group called Joyspeed, but that was no success. They decided to start all over and released in 1996 the first single Roses Are Red under the name Aqua. That song was a big chartsuccess in Denmark. The follow-up My Oh My from 1997 went to number one on the Danish chart. Worldwide success came with the single Barbie Girl, a song which went to number one in almost every European country. After that more hits were born, like Doctor
