Some basic information

RMB are Rolf Maier-Bode and Farid Gharadjedhi. Rolf Maier-Bode, who studied piano for several years started in 1991 on the Suck Me Plasma label with the first record Nautilus. After that he went to the Adam and Eve label, where he met Farid. The first productions were published under the synonym Skyflyer, but that changed soon to RMB.

The first RMB-release was RMB Trax I (Adam & Eve 010). After that came Manitou EP (Adam & Eve 012) and RMB Trax II (Adam & Eve 015). At the end of 1992 they left the Adam & Eve label due to financial problems from that label. They changed to Le Petit Prince, a label from Moenchengladbach (Germany). Two EPs Heaven And Hell and Love were the results. At the end of 1993 they signed a contract at the label Low Spirit. Here started the success with remixes for Westbam (Celebration generation) and Marusha (Somewhere over the rainbow).

The first big RMB release was Redemption from 1994. It reached the German chart and peaked at number 19. The follow-up Love Is An Ocean also reached top 25 (peak at 23). In 1995 the masterpiece Experience was released, peaking at number 12 in the German chart. Farid and Rolf are very interested in nature and the environment. In 1995 they went to the Mururoa Atoll, where they joined the peace fleet initiated by Greenpeace with their boat Spirit of Berlin to protest against the planned nuclear tests. The song A Trip To Muroroa on the 4th single Passport To Heaven was inspired by this trip. Passport To Heaven didn't do very well in the chart, with 66 as highest position.

In 1996 they released their biggest hit so far: Spring. This song reached the German top 10 (peaking at 6) and the Dutch chart (also top 10). In October 1996 the single went Gold (sales over 250.000). The follow-up Reality peaked at 11, just outside the German top 10. In 1997 they brought us Break The Silence, a CD-maxi where you can find also the masterpiece Everything, which was used on the Mayday Compilation Sonic Empire. Only the Mayday version was better than the single version.

The new RMB is called Shadows, and it is featuring Sharam, who is also known for his work with Three'n'One.
